Already Whole is a storytelling campaign using social media as a tool for claiming/reclaiming the parts of ourselves that we're told are not okay.

Oppression is fueled by the stories we collectively tell through our systems, institutions and cultures.

Depending on your identities (i.e. your race, sexuality, gender, nationality, religion, disability, income-level, etc), these stories can be taken on as truth and show up as beliefs that you or others are:

  • not enough
  • not worthy
  • too much
  • broken

This is often paired with an idea that striving to better yourself (or adapt yourself to oppressive standards) will fix this collective and systemic problem. Hint: it won't.

This is harmful at best and lethal at worst.

It's time for a different, more liberating story to be told.

Will you join us?

Starting June 27th, we're bringing people together to share they stories through social media. Let's make some intentional space to own, celebrate and liberate ourselves and our truths! Not in spite of, but in creation of communities that support our personal and collective liberation.

Here's how it'll work:

1: You'll sign up to join in below! Once you're in we'll send a note to your inbox with more details and some tools to make this campaign a success.

2: The campaign begins! From the 27th-29th, you'll share one thing a day about yourself that makes you whole through a written post, photo and/or video on Facebook (tagging our FB page) or Instagram (using the #wholeselfliberation hashtag).

Each day, we'll be sending you some powerful reflection prompts to get your storytelling juices flowing and offer you some support.

We'll also be going LIVE, throughout the campaign, on Whole / Self Liberation's FB page to talk about how social issues affect our sense of wholeness and what we can do about it.

3: We'll encourage you to connect with and support others who are participating + invite your own communities to join in (because we need each other to thrive).

4: On the 30th, we party (virtually). We'll gather to celebrate ourselves and each other. You'll be able to meet other peeps who participated and we'll be doing a random giveaway of some goodies! We'll also share a little about WSL (who we are, what we're creating, etc).

Let's reclaim our wholeness, together.

If this is really exciting to you and you'd like to support this campaign, here's what you can do:

We have a vision for hundreds of people coming together to claim their wholeness. That can't be done without you!

If there's someone you know that would love this, could you send this their way?

You can also save and share these graphics on social media using the #wholeselfliberation hashtag or tagging our page and linking back to this page (http://bit.ly/alreadywhole):

Join our Support Team!

We want to make sure we get this on the screens of as many people as possible. Are you willing to help?

All that this requires is a more formal commitment to sharing about and participating in this campaign in the days leading up to and throughout it.

When you commit, we'll feature a photo of you on this page with a link back to your work or an org that's important to you.

Interested?

Email us at wholeselfliberation@gmail.com with "Support Team" in the subject line. Tell us a little bit about who you are, why you're interested and include the photo and link you'd like us to use!

Thank you!
